Alfonso Rey
Venezuelan actor and director.
Graduated from the “Rajatabla” foundation in Caracas. Worked with directors such as: Carlos Giménez, Rodolfo Santana, Gustavo Ott, Michel Hausmann, Rene Busch, Jorge Ali Triana, Roberto Stopello, Marco Antonio Rodriguez among others.
He has participated in more than 60 theatrical productions. Some of the plays in those who have worked: Passport, Life is a Dream, The Phantom Lady, The Feast of the Goat, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Aunt Julia and the Playwright, The Great Semiramis, The Golem of Havana, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, No One Writes to the Colonel, The Brief and Wonderful Life
of Oscar Wao and #Popular, among other. “I did it” short film 2020.
In 2005 he moved to New York City to be part of the staff of Repertorio Español.
He has also directed at: Teatro Circulo, The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, Painted Bride Art Center PA, Arden Theater Company PA, Ateneo Doral Miami.
Winner of several ACE, HOLA and ATI awards as an actor and director Second time Frenzy Fest winner before invited as a BIP member.
Light and sound designer for Spanish Repertory theatre since 2005 where he has excelled as a technician, actor and director. He was Technical Director of the Venezuelan Caracas International Theater Festival (2000,2002,2004),
Internation Music Festival El Hatillo, (Caracas) (1995-2000) He worked with more than 60 international figures. Miami International Music Festival 2001. He worked with Pina Baush, Tomaz Pandur, Chick Corea, Celia Cruz, Soledad Bravo, Cheo Feliciano, Oscar de Leon, Franco de Vita, among many others.
He participated in many festivals around the world: USA, Costa Rica, Germany, Latvia, Czeck Republic, Colombia, Argentina and Egypt.
