TUYA SIEMPRE, JULITA
DIGITAL PLAYBILL

About the play

“The author of Tuya siempre, Julita, the Puerto Rican Roberto Ramos-Perea, winner of the 1992 Tirso de Molina Prize, is considered one of the most well-known, respected and represented contemporary authors of Latin American theater today.”
The Caracas Newspaper
November 13, 1994
~
“I found Forever Yours, Julita to be a very touching piece with beautiful writing. The relationship between Julita and Luis is a fascinating one which we can view either as a literal love affair or as a metaphor for a poet and his muse of him. Mr. Ramos-Perea captures both the creative sensitivity and personal arrogance of these artists.”
Cathy Madison, Literary Manager
Arena Stage. Washington D.C.
~
“It is a fascinating play, providing insights into the minds of two fully developed characters of contrasting personalities who, in trying to understand, conquer and dominate one another, end up switching roles constantly, turning their passion into a consuming love-hate relationship that tears them apart.
The play achieves great success in the use of poetic language and expression. It is very satisfying to enjoy the eloquent use of language, words, phrases, extracts from known or newly created poems, for them to evoke a romantic mood.”
