BELANGE RODRIGUEZ

Born and raised in Puerto Rican, actress, producer and writer based in New York City. Graduate of the Ameriacan Musical and Dramatic Academy [AMDA (NYC)]. Her career credits includes works with Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre, Broadway (“Latinologues” staring alongside Eugenio Derbez at NYC Town Hall and International Festivals ( Fringe Festival), among with other companies and independent productions. as well as Latino television shows in leading and co-leading roles as Decisiones (Telemundo International).

Belange has been recognized by the ACE (lead actress), and HOLA(supporting actress),  ATI (supporting actress) and LATA Awards, amongst others in New York City and Puerto Rico and recognized by the Village Voice for her work in The Spanish Repertory Theatre for her role in the play “Chained Dog” (“Marido Encadenado”) with whom she still a proud member of Repertorio Espanol since 2003.

As a producer, her first production in New York was her autobiographical play, “A Night to Forget” based in her sad violation experience in New York when she was studying. Ms. Rodriguez then moved back to Puerto Rico for some years and founded “BeautifulAngel Productions,” mounting several plays in the most prestigious theaters of the island and the radio show, “Te Regalo mi sonrisa.” That program carried the voices of people, families and communities who felt marginalized and confined by health or social issues, such as cancer patients, and victims of rape and domestic violence, among many others.

After she moved back to NY, she co-produced the fundraising events “De aquí y de allá,” a theater festival to help the victims in Puerto Rico after the passage of hurricane Maria, presented at the Julia de Burgos Theater and co-produced the 2019 Frenzy Fest.

Most recently she received the Best Actress in Drama 2020 LATA Awards for her work in “Junkies Stole the Clock” presented in Frenzy Fest 2019.
